The grade III masonry Trade Test is developed to test competences of persons engaged in the building industry in order to assess their suitability to carry out tasks expected for the level.- he skill area takes into consideration the knowledge requirements, practical competences and attitudes necessary in job performance.- The course requires the person to have knowledge and practical competencies in building construction works together with a good understanding of safety practices. Tools, equipment and materials in order to perform to the required standards. The grade III certificate holder should be able to minimize costs in construction, repair and maintenance of buildings.- Basic Areas of Functional Competency include; Work place safety and procedures, Tools and equipment, Interpretation of working drawings, Preliminary site works, Stone dressing –regular shapes, Mortar, Concrete, Foundations

At this level the student is required to have knowledge and practical competencies in interpretation of drawings, stone dressing, temporary works, walling, opening in walls and finishes in order to perform to the required standards. This is addition to the knowledge.
