The Bishop of Lodwar entrusted to the Salesians of Don Bosco Holy Cross Catholic Parish in the Camp. The Parish has ten outstations spread out in the Kakuma Refugee camp and Kalobeyei Settlement. They are: Holy Cross, Sts. Peter and Paul, Christ the King, St. Stephen, Our Lady of Guadalupe, St. Daniel Comboni, St. John Bosco, Mary Help of Christians, St. Dominic Savio and Assumptions . The parish has a number of associations of the faithful and animating organs: Catechists Parish Pastoral Council Catholic Men Associations Catholic Women Associations Altar Servers Charismatic Group.
As missionaries and as persons committed to evangelization and spiritual care of the people of God, the Salesians offer their services to the only Catholic parish in the entire camp and the Settlement with the help of MDF Sisters. The small Christian communities are active and they are 45 in number with their leadership actively involved in the running of it, especially with the follow up of the 2 MDF sisters. The presence of a very large percentage of the camp population which is youth offers the Salesians an ideal place for ministry in the camp.
